I guess it is about time I actually shake the dust off this thing after almost a two year break (did I really get started to begin with?). The last time I posted anything I had quit my job without anything to roll into. I got a job shortly after, and have been employed there ever since. I've always had this little piece of the internet on my mind, but I never managed to motivate myself to do anything with it. With any luck I'll get my act together and start posting on a regular basis.
Now that that is over with, there are two shows that have come to a conclusion in the last couple days. In one B and C list celebrities compete for one of the ugliest trophies imaginable.

In the other recording artist hopefuls risk humiliation and verbal abuse to compete in the most flawed voting system that actually counts votes.

I really can't stand most of the "Reality Shows", so I really hate getting sucked into the fabricated drama to know who got voted off (ie Ryan Seacrest). I have to sit through a 30 minute (or more) second episode just to see who sticks around to keep competing. The multiple votes thing is also something that bugs me. Just because someone has the votes of some bone head that just sits there calling the same phone number over and over again doesn't mean they are the real winner of the glorified popularity contest. Speaking of popularity contests, I graduated from high school. Why should I be subjected to high school antics in mind numbing entertainment?
There is a solution!
DIAL IDOL!!! Some fan of the American Idol comes up with this ingenious piece of software that calls the voting phone number for you. It logs if there is a busy signal or not, reports back to the hive, and then the hive crunches numbers to give a prediction of who moves on and who goes home. I enjoyed the bliss of knowing who won both shows before I left for work the morning of the results shows. I come home from work and feel no need to watch any of them. Thank you to site creator
Jim Hellriegel for freeing me from bondage.
